Apliom Family Terms of Use
These are the short terms of use for Apliom Family, an organizer app for home and family. They are written in plain language, without legal jargon. If anything is unclear, write to us at support@apliom.com.
1. What Apliom Family is and who makes it
Apliom Family (formerly Famio) is a mobile app for families and households: a shared calendar, tasks, helper shift schedules, chat, shopping lists, a house manual and a family “Vault”. It is available for Android and iOS.
The service is operated by Ardent Interactive FZCO, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. Apliom is the brand under which we release our apps; other Apliom products may be governed by separate terms.
2. Accepting these terms
By registering an account, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not register.
3. Age and roles
- Only adults (18+) may create an account.
- Helpers (nanny, driver, tutor, housekeeper) are adults and join only by a parent's invitation.
- Children do not have their own accounts — they are profiles within the family, managed by a parent.
By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. A parent is responsible for the information about minors that they add to the family.
4. Helpers and access
- The parent decides what each helper can see: which children, events and tasks. By default, a helper sees the minimum.
- Financial records, the Vault and the family's private entries are never visible to helpers.
- The parent can change or revoke a helper's access at any time.
- A helper agrees to use access to the family's data only for their work with that family, and not to disclose it to third parties.
5. Your account and responsibility
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens in your account.
- If you suspect your account has been compromised, change your password right away and write to support@apliom.com.
6. What you can and can't do
You can:
- Run your own family and household, including working with household staff.
- Belong to several families (for example, a helper who works for two families, or shared custody).
- Invite people who have your permission to be part of the family.
You can't:
- Resell the service or use it as an agency platform (managing other people's families for a fee as a service).
- Create fake families or mass-invite strangers.
- Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer or overload our servers.
- Use the app in breach of applicable law, including data protection and child protection laws.
- Post unlawful or objectionable content, or abuse other people — for example content that infringes other people's rights, threats, harassment or hate speech.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. In the chat you can report a message and block a user — you will no longer see a blocked person's messages. We review reports within 24 hours and may remove content and suspend or delete the accounts of people who break these rules (see section 10).
7. Your content
Everything you create in Apliom Family — events, tasks, photos, messages, entries — belongs to you. We claim no rights to your content and process it only to run the service.
You allow us to:
- Store the content on our servers (EU).
- Show it to your family members and helpers — within the access limits you have set.
- Make backups (kept for 7 days).
We do not use your content for advertising, do not share it with third parties (except as described in the Privacy Policy) and do not train AI models on it.
8. Free plan and Apliom Premium
Organizing your family and household is free. Apliom Premium is an optional paid subscription for a family: it lets the family have more parents, co-managers and helpers. The current limits of each plan are always shown in the app.
- Welcome period. A new family gets Premium free of charge for a welcome period (currently 7 days from when the family is created; in the app it is shown as “Free trial”). No payment details are needed, and it does not turn into a paid subscription on its own.
- One subscription for the whole family. A parent or a co-manager of the family buys it, and it covers everyone in the family. It is linked to the family, not to a phone.
- Buying and paying. You buy Premium through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and the purchase is also subject to their terms. The store charges your store account and handles your payment details — we never see your card. The price is shown in the app and in the store before you confirm; Apple and Google set it in your local currency.
- Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (a month, 6 months or a year), and your store account is charged again, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Free month with the yearly plan. In both the App Store and Google Play, the yearly plan comes with a 1-month free trial for new subscribers whom the store considers eligible; the store’s payment screen shows whether it applies to you before you confirm. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the free month ends, the yearly subscription starts and your store account is charged.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your store account: on iPhone — Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android — Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. In the app you can open this page from Settings → “Manage subscription”. After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Only the person who bought the subscription can cancel it, from their own store account.
- Refunds. Payments go through Apple or Google, so refunds follow their refund policies — ask the store where you paid. If a payment is refunded, Premium ends for the family. This does not limit your rights under mandatory consumer law, such as a right of withdrawal where it applies.
- When Premium ends. If the subscription is cancelled, expires or is refunded, or the welcome period ends without a subscription, the family continues on the free plan. Everything the free plan includes keeps working, and no data is deleted. You may not be able to add more parents, co-managers or helpers than the free plan includes, and if the family already has more helpers or co-managers than that, their access may be paused after a grace period and a reminder in the app. Paused access comes back as soon as the family has Premium again.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account first, otherwise the store may keep charging you. The same applies if the person who bought it leaves the family.
- Price changes. We may change prices in the future. Apple or Google will tell you in advance under their rules and, where their rules require it, ask for your agreement. You can cancel before a new price applies. There are no hidden charges.
- App Store. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Exporting and deleting your data is always free, on every plan.
9. Concierge service
- Apliom Concierge is an optional, on-request service: we help with coordinating household matters (for example, pointing you to licensed service providers in your country).
- The concierge is not a legal service, an employment agency or a recruitment service. Services that require a license are provided only by licensed providers in your country.
- We do not guarantee the outcome of a request and are not a party to your arrangements with service providers.
10. Termination
- By you: you can delete your account and family at any time in the app settings. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it in your store account (see section 8).
- By us: we may suspend or delete an account that violates section 6. Where legally possible, we will give you 30 days' notice.
- If the service shuts down: we will give 60 days' notice where it is within our power, and let you export your data.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
We work hard to keep everything running, but we do not guarantee 100% availability, freedom from errors, or compatibility with every future version of Android or iOS. The service is provided “as is”. Keep your own copies of critical information.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or to harm to life or health.
We are not liable for:
- Indirect losses (lost profits and the like).
- The actions of your family members and helpers within the app.
- The actions of service providers you have turned to, and of other third parties (Apple, Google, Supabase and others).
Consumer rights that cannot be limited under the law of your country remain in full force.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the United Arab Emirates, where the operator (Ardent Interactive FZCO) is registered; disputes not involving consumers are heard by the competent courts of the UAE at its place of registration. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA (or another country with mandatory consumer protection), you in any case keep the protections of the law of your country of residence: you may bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and claims against you as a consumer may only be brought there.
14. Changes to these terms
We will notify you of material changes by email or in the app 30 days in advance. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before the changes take effect.
